A daily record of gratitude; from quilting to photography to a mix of technology, books, movies and the musings of life!

Welcome to my Blog of my daily gratitude and photo of the day!

Since January 1, 2012, my goal is to write a daily sentence or two (or paragraph or two) about gratitude of the day and to include one photo (at least) that I took that day (but will add others from time to time). It has definitely been a challenge most days throughout the past eight years, and welcomed the challenge again this year - 2020 - Covid and all. I hope you will continue the ride with me!

Allen-Arena Wedding Weekend!

Memorial Day Weekend is the kick-off to summer, to honor our men and women in uniform (past, present and future...we THANK YOU!), and more personally, the celebration of the marriage of Chelsea Allen and Michael Arena in Devon, Pennsylvania.

"The Best Daughter" was the Maid of Honor for Chelsea and Mike, and we were thankful to celebrate the day with them, their parents, family and friends too. Olivia met Chelsea in high school and played soccer together for Archbishop Spalding HS. I'm proud that they've remained great friends ever since.

It was a lovely day; sprinkled with brilliant sunshine and warm temperatures until the exchanging of rings when the skies opened up with lightning; thunder and rain. The bridal party, officiant and the crowd of 160+ were nimble enough (along with the venue) for gathering all of us under shelter (squeezed into a smaller space and we all had to stand) to finish the wedding ceremony. It's something I've never seen done, but it really worked quite seamlessly to the amazement of the bride and groom and all their guests. Kudos to Terrain Gardens and their staff to make the very quick "switcheroo" to officially make them a married couple! Following the introduction of Mr. and Mrs. Arena, an amazing rainbow peaked out over the venue; a serendipity moment for sure!

Can we agree that weddings bring hope that the world is good and keeps evolving? Love it patient and kind and never fails, and that was definitely witnessed throughout this past weekend!

Cheers to the beautiful new bride and groom; Chelsea and Mike Arena (they also killed it on the dance floor)! May their love and respect for each other grow passionately with each passing day!

BSoleille! The bright side of a beautiful wedding day!
