A daily record of gratitude; from quilting to photography to a mix of technology, books, movies and the musings of life!

Welcome to my Blog of my daily gratitude and photo of the day!

Since January 1, 2012, my goal is to write a daily sentence or two (or paragraph or two) about gratitude of the day and to include one photo (at least) that I took that day (but will add others from time to time). It has definitely been a challenge most days throughout the past eight years, and welcomed the challenge again this year - 2020 - Covid and all. I hope you will continue the ride with me!

We Cannot Forget

Today our nation still mourns the brave men and women who lost their lives in the terror attacks 16 years ago. Can it really be 16 years? The babies born that year are driving now, gosh darn it. As much as we don't like to admit it, we all had to move on as we needed to do, but many families still suffer as do the first responders to that horrific event. And then the past two weeks we have seen Mother Nature's wrath with unbelievable, perhaps more aptly, unfathomable, hurricanes in Texas and Florida, plus the wildfires in Washington, Oregon and California. The death and destruction is beyond measure and millions are suffering from something they could never stop.

We "learned" from 9/11 how to rally and strengthen the human bonds to our countrymen, with cash, blood, platelets, food, water and clean up that took years. It is this same human spirit and strength that will catapult the devastated areas to some kind of "normalcy" as soon as feasible to get into the areas to help. I am thankful that I can believe we are on the precipice of seeing extraordinary folks assist millions of Americans amongst the wreckage, because I believe wholeheartedly that there is more kindness and goodness in the world than anything else. Inspiring stories will abound...
