A daily record of gratitude; from quilting to photography to a mix of technology, books, movies and the musings of life!

Welcome to my Blog of my daily gratitude and photo of the day!

Since January 1, 2012, my goal is to write a daily sentence or two (or paragraph or two) about gratitude of the day and to include one photo (at least) that I took that day (but will add others from time to time). It has definitely been a challenge most days throughout the past eight years, and welcomed the challenge again this year - 2020 - Covid and all. I hope you will continue the ride with me!

American Fitness Half Marathon

A crisp temperature of 26 degrees with bright sunny skies ushered 10,000 runners at the start of this morning's half marathon in Downtown Richmond. (There was also an 8k race and full marathon as well).

I am so thankful to have finished this race with "The Best Daughter" running step for step as she positively cheered me/us on from the start. I am equally thrilled by the all positive energy in abundance throughout the entire course, even though we finished with the temperature rising to 28 degrees! Once we started though we were quite comfortable in a couple miles. The long running tights and our shocking pink long sleeved shirts with embroidered "Like Mother..." and "Like Daughter...(Shout of Thanks to Sheila Walker for the great embroidery work) were the hit for those who noticed!

We finished in a respectable 2:01 (for me) or about 9:23 per mile pace. Now you know what this means?  I need to do another one and break two hours! Funny thing though it has been over 14 years since I have run a race over 5 miles or a 10K and I can say now, I really enjoyed it!

BSoleille!  The bright side of all those training runs, mostly alone, to convene with my daughter Olivia and 10,000 other runners on a beautiful fall morning. That is truly something to be thankful for.

Great job ladies! And you both look beautiful in "Hot Pink" just "Like Mother, Like Daughter". (Smile).
