A daily record of gratitude; from quilting to photography to a mix of technology, books, movies and the musings of life!

Welcome to my Blog of my daily gratitude and photo of the day!

Since January 1, 2012, my goal is to write a daily sentence or two (or paragraph or two) about gratitude of the day and to include one photo (at least) that I took that day (but will add others from time to time). It has definitely been a challenge most days throughout the past eight years, and welcomed the challenge again this year - 2020 - Covid and all. I hope you will continue the ride with me!

Highest Fuel to Date!

I have not mentioned my relatively new gizmo - the Nike Fuel Band in awhile, but my daily goal is set for 3000 "fuels".

Today I was a total whirlwind to achieve my highest fuel to date with 11,154! Let me say my 30+mile bike ride helped to kickstart the day, followed by mowing the grass (front and back), dog walking, then cleaned out two closets, grocery shopped, chopped vegetables and packed lunches and finally "fast" walked close to 4-5 miles to near the 10,000 goal. I really did not sit down except to eat for about an half hour total on lunch and dinner. Basically, in motion from 8:50am through 10:20pm.

Thankful now to do a little non-fuel activity (like lying down) and try to finish my book: "Masters of Chaos" The Secret History of the Special Forces"! And believe me, the US Special Forces really know how to burn fuel (especially in the desert in Iraq with 60 lbs. of gear and machine guns strapped to their backs!)

BSoleille!

It doesn't seem the Nike site says the band 'works' with biking. Walking, running, etc it does - rhythmic pounding steps (makes sense) -- I wonder how accurate it is for biking ...
