A daily record of gratitude; from quilting to photography to a mix of technology, books, movies and the musings of life!

Welcome to my Blog of my daily gratitude and photo of the day!

Since January 1, 2012, my goal is to write a daily sentence or two (or paragraph or two) about gratitude of the day and to include one photo (at least) that I took that day (but will add others from time to time). It has definitely been a challenge most days throughout the past eight years, and welcomed the challenge again this year - 2020 - Covid and all. I hope you will continue the ride with me!

Liquid Love - Canned Tomatoes!

A yearly tradition of canning tomatoes with my buddies Marilyn Eichner and Patty Lubin resulted in almost 60 quarts of "liquid love" today. Patty started early in blanching a lot of tomatoes, so when Marilyn and I arrived in Fairfax, VA, we were off to the races in preparing them to finish cooking and then to can. It can be a somewhat long process, but the three of us have it down to a science in who does what around the kitchen. We are very thankful we have this tradition for the past 5,6, or 7 years (I think we've lost count).

What makes this day so great is not only enhancing our bonds of friendship, but discussing how delicious all these quarts of tomatoes will taste in soups, stews and sauces as the weather cools down in the next couple of months. We even added one ingredient to some quarts: garlic (with some having both garlic and basil). Yummy for sure!

BSoleille!
