A daily record of gratitude; from quilting to photography to a mix of technology, books, movies and the musings of life!

Welcome to my Blog of my daily gratitude and photo of the day!

Since January 1, 2012, my goal is to write a daily sentence or two (or paragraph or two) about gratitude of the day and to include one photo (at least) that I took that day (but will add others from time to time). It has definitely been a challenge most days throughout the past eight years, and welcomed the challenge again this year - 2020 - Covid and all. I hope you will continue the ride with me!

244 Year Old - USA

That's how long the United States is a country, 244 years today (General Washington wanted it to be July 2nd I've heard). Independence Day and BBQ's all around. I hear fireworks already going off and the sun is still shining. What's that all about?

Today in Ocean City, Maryland, a truck carrying fireworks for their big beach show tonight somehow "caught fire" and blew up - fireworks going off prematurely and scattering throngs of people near it. Thankfully, no one was killed or seriously injured.

Enjoy this long weekend in celebrating any way you'd like.

BSoleille! The bright side of a glimpse of The Statue of Liberty on our way home from New York today.

A structure of wonder - Verrazzano -Narrows Bridge

The 13 lane double-decker suspension bridge connects the boroughs of Staten Island and Brooklyn, New York.  It opened in 1964. It was the longest suspension bridge in the world until 1981 when the Humber Bridge opened up in the UK. It is a site to behold and cross over (upper).
