A daily record of gratitude; from quilting to photography to a mix of technology, books, movies and the musings of life!

Welcome to my Blog of my daily gratitude and photo of the day!

Since January 1, 2012, my goal is to write a daily sentence or two (or paragraph or two) about gratitude of the day and to include one photo (at least) that I took that day (but will add others from time to time). It has definitely been a challenge most days throughout the past eight years, and welcomed the challenge again this year - 2020 - Covid and all. I hope you will continue the ride with me!

Oh What a Year 2016

First and foremost, I am grateful for all my blogpost readers and commenters this year. Today is my 1,664th post, and tonight's post culminates five years of almost daily posts. That is a celebration in and of itself and I'd say I've learned a thing or two about blogging, improving my writing, and feeling more grateful each day (one day at a time) over the last five years for sure!

All day long this last blogpost (written in the last hour of 2016) has been ping ponging around my head, and the song: "Seasons of Love" from "Rent" is the song I cannot get out of my head. So to sum up the year in song, I must share the first verse once again:

Five hundred twenty-five thousand
Six hundred minutes
Five hundred twenty-five thousand
Moments so dear
Five hundred twenty-five thousand
Six hundred minutes
How do you measure - measure a year?
In daylights - in sunsets
In midnights - in cups of coffee
In inches - in miles
In laughter - in strife

Except for the "cups of coffee", that about sums up Sweet 2016 for me. The song covers the glorious days and beautiful sunsets (in the USA and Africa), the cups of _____, the inches of fabric I meticulously sewed and quilted, the miles (of running and races), and the great laughter and the strife (Ryan's medical issues). Yep, all there tidy and clean in a simple song.

My hope for 2017 is that each of you find the Happy in the New Year! Maybe sprinkling in Peace in your lives and around the globe, and letting go of the "small stuff" to make room for all the good stuff that's bound to take its place. Live and love fiercely - you won't regret it!

BSoleille!
Terri
