A daily record of gratitude; from quilting to photography to a mix of technology, books, movies and the musings of life!

Welcome to my Blog of my daily gratitude and photo of the day!

Since January 1, 2012, my goal is to write a daily sentence or two (or paragraph or two) about gratitude of the day and to include one photo (at least) that I took that day (but will add others from time to time). It has definitely been a challenge most days throughout the past eight years, and welcomed the challenge again this year - 2020 - Covid and all. I hope you will continue the ride with me!

One. Day. At. A. Time

The wait and surgery is over. Ryan did very well and "tolerated" this second tumor removal like a champ, in which he truly is, bar none! Maybe "amazing warrior" is more like it (I'm a biased parent!). I have to be honest though, it has been one emotionally challenging day for Bill and me. I believe it's almost "easier" for the patient, right? However, with hundreds of people praying, sending positive thoughts, and even lighting candles on his/the family's behalf, we are truly blessed and have been lifted in His holy grace. We all feel the love! And we cannot thank you enough!!

And remember the line I said about moving mountains through prayer?  Family friend and confidant, Sister Pat Parachini, had this message for us today: We Continue to pray with you for Ryan...have our whole Province praying:  450 Sisters and 300 lay associates of the Sisters of the Holy Names!   Take care and lots of love.

Now that is a lot of mountain moving, yes?

Ryan is resting comfortably in a step down unit,  and provided he has a good night, he should be able to go home tomorrow (according to Dr. Ord). The hope is that Ryan's recovery will be much faster than the May surgery, and fingers crossed for clean pathology reports forthcoming.

And as there were no words to describe this new cancer incidence with Ryan, and all that it entailed, there are few words to adequately convey how humbled and thankful we are to so many people near and far that Ryan (or our family) has touched through his crazy story of cancer through the years.

Lastly, a big shout of THANKS to Dr. Robert Ord (and his team of excellent care providers) at the University of Maryland Medical Center for his professionalism, kindness and compassion to Ryan, our family, and everyone he comes in contact with.

OK. This is enough! Love and prayers remain with you all everyday!
