A daily record of gratitude; from quilting to photography to a mix of technology, books, movies and the musings of life!

Welcome to my Blog of my daily gratitude and photo of the day!

Since January 1, 2012, my goal is to write a daily sentence or two (or paragraph or two) about gratitude of the day and to include one photo (at least) that I took that day (but will add others from time to time). It has definitely been a challenge most days throughout the past eight years, and welcomed the challenge again this year - 2020 - Covid and all. I hope you will continue the ride with me!

Marathon Morning

The biggest blessing today was bestowed on over 30,000 Marine Corp Marathon runners competing and completing this great running event sans Hurricane Sandy or any other calamity except sore feet, hamstrings and quads!

A large crowd gathered all over downtown Washington DC to cheer on the runners from each of the 50 states and various countries around the world. Thankfully the air was filled with electric excitement and not the wild rains predicted at that time. Our cheering section screamed and clapped as "our" runners passed us on the course. And fittingly we also cheered on about 25,000 others including Minnie Mouse, Cheese Head, a Viking, and many runners dressed in pink and purple tutus (both men and women, that is).

My photos are Mike (in orange) and Mark Misencik (white tank) at the 9 mile marker); Liz Verrecchia at the 26 mile marker and the three finishers after the race!!! Whoohooo and congratulations to all. Also a big shout to Liz as she finished her very first marathon!

BSoleille! The bright side of training and finishing a marathon!

Terri
