A daily record of gratitude; from quilting to photography to a mix of technology, books, movies and the musings of life!

Welcome to my Blog of my daily gratitude and photo of the day!

Since January 1, 2012, my goal is to write a daily sentence or two (or paragraph or two) about gratitude of the day and to include one photo (at least) that I took that day (but will add others from time to time). It has definitely been a challenge most days throughout the past eight years, and welcomed the challenge again this year - 2020 - Covid and all. I hope you will continue the ride with me!

Bike Brigade on Kelleys Island

Last weekend we took a lot of photos around the island doing different things with many people. The weather was warm enough and there was an abundance of sunshine for all the festivities of which we were very thankful for all weekend long.

One of the true spirit of Kelleys Island is touring around the whole island, preferably by bicycle. With all roads set at 25 mph, it's easy for people of all ages to tool around from Downtown, to the Glacier Grooves and State Campground to riding along the Lakeshore and to see the many views of Lake Erie at its finest.

The photo below is a group of eight (that's how many bikes we had to go around) that toured the above described areas. And it's always a pleasure to show off the island to a newcomer; Stephens Shafer, who hails from Richmond VA, and now, Washington DC (on the extreme right)! He loved everything about the island...and now we can add another convert to the magic of Kelleys Island just like that!

BSoleille! The bright side of an early morning bike ride: From L-R: Brian Phillips, me, "The Best Daughter", Liz Verrecchia, Jodie Smith, Kimberly Kocan, Jerry Kocan, and Stephens Shafer.
