A daily record of gratitude; from quilting to photography to a mix of technology, books, movies and the musings of life!

Welcome to my Blog of my daily gratitude and photo of the day!

Since January 1, 2012, my goal is to write a daily sentence or two (or paragraph or two) about gratitude of the day and to include one photo (at least) that I took that day (but will add others from time to time). It has definitely been a challenge most days throughout the past eight years, and welcomed the challenge again this year - 2020 - Covid and all. I hope you will continue the ride with me!

Sad Day in Boston

My father used to say that we live in a "sick society" whenever tragedy struck in and around Cleveland, Ohio and certainly blunders around the world. His words, unfortunately rang true at the Boston Marathon this afternoon after a two terrible bombs went off at finish line. The "sick" perpetrators certainly got the worlds negative attention to the tune of lost lives, plus innocent spectators injured as they watched their loved ones cross the finish line in one of the worlds' toughest marathon.

My good friend Linda Misencik was one face in the crowd heading toward the finish line when the two bombs went off. Thankfully she is OK, but quite shaken up by this tragic event. She was at 26.1 at 4:09 (running clock) miles and was unable to finish as chaos ensued everywhere at that point in time.

My prayers go out to the lost lives, the injured and all the runners, volunteers, fire, rescue, police and spectators for the 2013 Boston Marathon.
