A daily record of gratitude; from quilting to photography to a mix of technology, books, movies and the musings of life!

Welcome to my Blog of my daily gratitude and photo of the day!

Since January 1, 2012, my goal is to write a daily sentence or two (or paragraph or two) about gratitude of the day and to include one photo (at least) that I took that day (but will add others from time to time). It has definitely been a challenge most days throughout the past eight years, and welcomed the challenge again this year - 2020 - Covid and all. I hope you will continue the ride with me!

Send Off for Special Love's Camp Fantastic!

My husband Bill and I were giddy to volunteer this morning at NIH to help 40 childhood cancer survivors with check-in and to load their suitcases and camp stuff on the bus. We then sent them to the nurses and other camp staff before they were all loaded on the bus for the best week of their lives!

Camp Fantastic is a week long camp for any kid battling cancer in the DelMarVa and Metro areas. Over 100 kids, and just as many counselors and staff, take over the 4-H Camp in Front Royal, VA, for an unforgettable week of craziness, friendship, comradery, fun and moments no one will ever forget. We were humbled once again by the strength of each child, their parent(s), and the medical staff in keeping each child involved in all things camp related as best as they can. By the way, the infirmary for camp this week has just as much, if not more, medical supplies (plus blood, platelets etc) than the community hospital in Front Royal, just saying...

Our son, Ryan Tomoff, is in his seventh year as a camp counselor and LOVES every minute at camp. He especially knows the value of helping and giving back to these kids as he had received from so many counselors when he was a camper for 10 years...and not that long ago.

Bill and I are so thankful to help and play a small role in sending 40 brave cancer warriors to Camp Fantastic! HOW-HOW!!!

BSoleille! The bright side of the epitome of "it takes a village."
