A daily record of gratitude; from quilting to photography to a mix of technology, books, movies and the musings of life!

Welcome to my Blog of my daily gratitude and photo of the day!

Since January 1, 2012, my goal is to write a daily sentence or two (or paragraph or two) about gratitude of the day and to include one photo (at least) that I took that day (but will add others from time to time). It has definitely been a challenge most days throughout the past eight years, and welcomed the challenge again this year - 2020 - Covid and all. I hope you will continue the ride with me!

Cape of Good Hope

Otherwise known as the southernmost tip of Africa where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet. The ocean views were beautiful with the various gradients of color, but this all comes at a high price of being very very windy!

Prior to getting to the point, we checked out the super cute penguins (on the endangered list, unfortunately) in Simon's Town. Though the waters were swiftly moving, the penguins are very agile swimmers beating any waves to get where they were going, like the rocks in my photo.

Our morning was all about shopping and checking out two markets in Cape Town. The first one was mostly a food market/ local farmers market on the grounds of the Cape Town Premier's (mayor) residence, Helene Zille. A great beautiful site for hosting a market, with respectful people and what seemed like very little security on the property. (But it's there somewhere we all know). A good breakfast was had by all.

The second market was at The Old Biscuit Mill with all kinds of food, local arts and crafts, and restaurants. Nice.

BSoleille! The bright side of a cosmopolitan mountain to sea adventure.
