A daily record of gratitude; from quilting to photography to a mix of technology, books, movies and the musings of life!

Welcome to my Blog of my daily gratitude and photo of the day!

Since January 1, 2012, my goal is to write a daily sentence or two (or paragraph or two) about gratitude of the day and to include one photo (at least) that I took that day (but will add others from time to time). It has definitely been a challenge most days throughout the past eight years, and welcomed the challenge again this year - 2020 - Covid and all. I hope you will continue the ride with me!

The Opposite of Quilting is...

Cleaning the gutters, of course.  Thankfully, I'm not afraid of heights, muck or swinging a big ladder around the yard to do a thankless task of being a "gutter-girl" today!  I know I called this a thankless job, but it is the kind of job that remains silent because only me and the gutters know they were cleaned.  Now it can rain all it wants and hopefully the spouts will all work and not clog up!

It's very unusual to see a woman climbing up the ladder to clean gutters. You are a proof that women can also do what men can do. However, you should be extra careful whenever you do this. Going up and down the ladder and reaching for objects in your gutter pose a high risk of getting yourself injured. You might also want to use filters for your gutter if you don't have one. It will help you clean gutters easier and faster because it prevents objects that cause clogging from getting caught inside your gutter.
