Loads of fun were sprinkled among three cars up to Hinkletown PA (called Twinkletown by my bee-mates during the holidays), from the Route 3 Corridor in Maryland. We left at 7am sharp and scooted up to Lancaster and the surrounding area with little traffic!
Our trip was a fabric acquisition trip along with hanging out with our favorite Amish (Mennonite?) buddies (the Zimmerman Family) who sell more Bernina Sewing Machines in the whole world (and they have plaques in their one classroom to prove it.) Since a couple of bee-mates needed some maintenance on their machines, 10 of us decided to make it a full day outing. It did not disappoint!
Since there were two bees (quilting bees, that is) going in three cars, we call this kind of trip “cross-pollination.” This trip was the first time three of the "cross-pollinators" have ever been to Hinkletown which also included several fabric shops, Goods and Shady Maple, the shops in Intercourse, PA , then ending our day (before the drive home) at the Round the Clock Diner for dinner!
We all had a fabulous day together. I got some great fabrics for the projects I'm currently working on and then other fabric for future projects.
They say a photo is worth a thousand words so check out our group pic among the prettiest fabric in the shop! We all bask in the color, the feel of the fabric and the designs dancing in our heads screaming to get out and become a quilt.
BSoleille!
