Aloha from Oahu

After a "longest" flight yesterday, we gladly reached our hotel in Waikiki late evening, but woke today to balmy temperatures and sunny skies! So thankful to be here and take this all in. We sandwiched the day with the sunrise and sunset on Waikiki Beach, and the middle part of the day spent at the North Shore where the Pipe Masters of World Class Surfing hosted by Billabong wowed the huge crowds from all over the world with epic surfer dudes riding the big waves of Oahu. Super cool for sure!

It was "The Best Daughter's" idea to head to the North Shore where the waves are bigger than we've ever seen, and the beachy towns along the way exuding some of the coolest vibes in Hawaii. Shanty shacks and shaved ice peppered the one way in and one way out road to all points North of Honolulu. Just a note, a large shaved ice was $3.00 and shared by all four of us. It was a great treat before heading back to Waikiki...but lots of traffic took us about two hours to travel 25 miles.

BSoleille!
