It's exciting when out-of-town guests visit, especially those folks that we cherish and have known for years. We had an amazing weekend with Jodie and Scot Smith, and thankful we had great sunny weather to keep busy the entire visit. We began the weekend on Friday afternoon with a good lunch, then a trip to MGM Casino at the National Harbor before heading to the USMNT vs. Cuba Soccer game at Audi Field in Washington, DC. I must admit I lost a wee bit on the slots ($20), and Scot won a wee bit playing Texas Hold'em. It was my first visit there as well, and we were all surprised how light and bright it was inside! The whole area has grown by leaps and bounds, and it was fun destination to check out.
By 7pm, we were cheering on the Men's National Team on the pitch where they won big; 7-0 over a much lesser team in Cuba. But the crowd was electric and the American Outlaws (huge cheering section with drums and songs) kept the crowd cheering even with the lopsided scoring. It was Scot and Jodie's first game and they really enjoyed it. A win-win for all of us!
