Quilt Week in Daytona

A play on words for "Bike Week" in Daytona Beach, the AQS (American Quilt Society) has one of their big shows, aptly named, "Quilt Week" going on this week that started yesterday. Not one to shy away from a quilt show, (especially a big one with new vendors and beautiful quilts), the sisterhood of the traveling quilters made the trek an hour and a half up the road to check it all out. I'm thankful we did! The day flew by admiring, oohing and ahing of all the fabrics, notions and quilts.

Interestingly, since we were so far from home, we all thought we "probably" would not run into anyone we knew (Mary has only lived in Florida less than a year), but shazam, I turned around and ran into a former Southern Comforter, Krista Wentz, (who lived in Crofton, Maryland near me!) and now lives in St. Augustine. What a great serendipity moment for sure!

The top off the perfect day, we met up with Ms. Charlotte and Steve at Bone Fish Grille in Veira. A big thanks to Ms. Charlotte for treating us to a delicious dinner!

BSoleille! The bright side of attending an out of town quilt show!

  1. I have always said it is a small world and I think it gets even smaller in the "quilting world". Looks like you all are having a great time.
