A daily record of gratitude; from quilting to photography to a mix of technology, books, movies and the musings of life!

Welcome to my Blog of my daily gratitude and photo of the day!

Since January 1, 2012, my goal is to write a daily sentence or two (or paragraph or two) about gratitude of the day and to include one photo (at least) that I took that day (but will add others from time to time). It has definitely been a challenge most days throughout the past eight years, and welcomed the challenge again this year - 2020 - Covid and all. I hope you will continue the ride with me!

Halfway to 300,000

Miles, that is, in my 2001 Corolla according to "Joe the Mechanic". As long as we change the oil in a timely fashion and rotate the tires, we should be able to get to that particular mileage milestone.

I really do get a kick out of vehicles high mileage stories. Typically, I read about them on the internet, but recently I was talking to a friend who has driven one vehicle 415,000 thus far!  So of course I asked him what car/truck it was, and he thankfully revealed it was a Honda Ridgeline!  I asked him his secret in obtaining that number, and without hesitation (besides general maintenance) his vehicles are garaged kept at night. That's it, nothing special except that the oil maintains better temperatures in extreme heat/cold and that's what he thinks keeps his cars running best. Sounds good to me.

BSoleille! The bright side of driving cars/trucks to over 200,000; 300,000; 400,000 or a half million miles!
