There are a few days left of childhood cancer awareness month, and this morning my son Ryan and I guest lectured, along with his pediatric oncologist, Dr. Aziza Shad, for over 100 medical students on the late effects of childhood cancer. I am so thankful we were asked, but honored really, and Ryan did such a terrific job in articulating the late effects he is experiencing today after so many years of chemotherapy, radiation and relapses.
It was a great way for us to "give back" and help the doctors of tomorrow gain some understanding of this crazy disease (Leukemia) and the real people behind the diagnoses and medical books.
BSoleille!
